North Falmouth Weather

With the help of my good friend Rob, AB!NJ, in Vermont, I have expanded my on-line presence by building an additional website that provides real-time weather conditions and forecast from my station in North Falmouth.  Weather is gathered by my Davis Vantage Pro 2 weather station and is transferred to hosting server via FTP.  All the scripts are written in HTML, PHP, CSS, and AJAX.  To view the site go to www.capecodwx.com.  Feel free to explore and send comments.  To get a comprehensive view of the local, regional, and national weather go to http://www.wunderground.com/wundermap/  If you zoom in on Cape Cod you will see "North Falmouth", station KMANORTH38.  That's me!
Also I have a website for the New England Weather Net, a ham radio association for which I am net  manager http://www.newenglandweathernet.com.  Again feel free to take a look!

Airstreaming in 2012

My new web page, using iPage hosting, has been up on-line for over a year now and has received a lot of favorable comments.  I have extended the use of the web site to include more than just our Airstreaming adventures.  I have included pages that are devoted to Ham Radio and to the New England Weather net, two of my interests in retirement!  I have also started a blog entry giving the highlights of the weather here on Cape Cod.  Do not confuse this with my other website capecodwx.com, where you can get an up to the minute view of the current weather in North Falmouth as well as historical weather data.
So what else is new with the Wiklunds and their Airstreaming adventures.  For us, the most important change is that we have traded in our 27' Safari  Airstream for a new 30' Flying Cloud Airstream, which offers us a lot of new creature comforts for long-distance travel.  We did our initial long-distance trip in it going to Albuquerque last Summer.  We do not have plans, as yet, for a long-distance trip this year.  The new trailer has many more creature comforts than out old one.

These include very comfortable, reclining leather captains chairs, a comfortable area for my computer and ham radio, a dinette for our meals (actually two couches for Winnie), a larger bathroom, two air conditioners, better storage, and a power inverter for 120 volt electricity when not plugged into electrical service.  We bought our new trailer at Colonial Airstream in New Jersey (http://www.colonialairstream.comweeblylink_new_window).  They have a large inventory to choose from and we were able to find the one we wanted (and turn down the one we thought we wanted!).  The sales people were great!  However, we identified a rain leak around one of the air conditioners and their service department failed to repair it.  We had it fixed, however, at Airstream of New England close to home (http://www.airstreamofne.comweeblylink_new_window).
